Fit for service will be divided into categories based on health status – Defense Ministry

Eligible servicemen will be divided into categories depending on the degree of their functionality

Oksana Sukhorukova, director of the Defense Ministry’s Healthcare Department, told Dzerkalo Tyzhnia in an interview.

These will be categories based on health status, namely:
▪️придатні (in full);
▪️придатні for service in a higher military educational institution (HMEI), a territorial recruitment and social support center (TSC and SS), support units, but not suitable for service in the Airborne Forces, Marines, Special Forces, Special Forces units, etc;
▪️придатні for certain specialties (e.g., candidates for admission to higher education institutions);
▪️придатні for specific tasks.

The law abolishing the status of “partially fit” will come into force on May 4. Starting May 18 (when the Law on Mobilization comes into force), those who were previously recognized as partially fit for service will be repeatedly summoned to the MCC and JV for a medical examination. Persons liable for military service will have 9 months to undergo a second medical examination and receive a new conclusion.
