To lie low near Luhansk: Nepalese mercenaries desert Russian army en masse

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, mercenaries from Nepal, assigned to the military unit 29328 of the Russian Armed Forces, are fleeing en masse. This is due to huge losses in “meat assaults”, cruelty of commanders and non-payment of promised money.

The Russians are actively looking for fugitives in the occupied Ukrainian settlements, particularly in the Luhansk region. As a rule, this does not yield results. In their reports to the “top”, the occupiers explain this by telling fables about Nepalese people leaving “for their home country because of an earthquake”.

The DIU reminded that getting from the occupied Luhansk region to Nepal is not an easy task. In addition, they may face prosecution for participating in the war against Ukraine at home.

Last year, it became known that Russia had recruited hundreds of Nepalese citizens into its occupation army. The media reported about 15 thousand Nepalis, citing “numerous sources.”
