The Russian army speedboat destroyed by the DIU in the temporarily occupied Crimea was a Russian boat of the 12150 Mongoose project
The boat was destroyed in the area of Vuzka Bay in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The enemy target was destroyed by the fighters of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine’s Group 13 unit using a Magura V5 maritime drone.
The occupiers use such equipment as multi-purpose high-speed vessels for patrolling the waters, fighting saboteurs, and search and rescue operations, the intelligence notes.
Mongoose boats have been manufactured in Russia since 2000. They are 20 meters long and 5 meters wide. It can accelerate up to 50 knots.
The modified versions of the Mongoose are equipped with remote-controlled combat modules with the main standard weapon – a 14.5 mm machine gun.
The Russians also have two automatic grenade launchers AGS-17, a hand-held anti-sabotage grenade launcher DP-64, and two man-portable air defense systems of the Igla or Verba type. The cost of the Mongoose is up to $3 million.
The estimated cost of the destroyed Mangusta is about $3 million.
