British Ministry of Defense suffers a hacker attack, resulting in a large-scale leak of information about the military

Hackers linked to the Chinese government hacked into the UK Ministry of Defense system – Sky News citing its own sources

On Tuesday, members of the British Parliament will be informed about a massive leak of data from the Ministry of Defense concerning military personnel.

As a result of the hacking of the British military payroll system, their names and bank details were disclosed.

The government did not name the country that did this, but the publication claims that it is China.

The Chinese state is accused of several attempts to hack into the Defense Ministry.

The agency said that all salaries will be paid and that the staff should not worry about their safety. Tomorrow they will be provided with the necessary advice and support

In addition, the hackers disabled the contractor’s system, which was not connected to the main computer systems of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the newspaper, the Ministry of Defense has been working intensively over the past 72 hours to understand the extent of the hack.

The incident may raise questions about whether other countries with difficult relations with China will be willing to share confidential intelligence with the UK.

“China is probably looking at financially vulnerable people to coerce them in exchange for cash,” said Tobias Ellwood, a Conservative member of the British Parliament.

According to the BBC, today the British Defense Secretary will make a statement and outline a “multi-stage plan” that will include measures to protect affected servicemen.
