American corporation Northrop Grumman will start production of ammunition in Ukraine – Breaking Defense.
It is about the production of medium-caliber ammunition as part of an agreement between the Pentagon and the Ukrainian government.
While medium-caliber ammunition will be produced initially, production is planned to expand to tank and artillery ammunition later.
While several European defense companies have committed to large-scale production programs in Ukraine, the Northrop co-production agreement is the first publicly recognized agreement between a prime defense official and the Ukrainian government on a production project in Ukraine.
The publication also reminds that the US State Department’s new program for the development of defense enterprises in Ukraine will invest $2 billion in the Ukrainian defense industry and open the door to US-Ukrainian joint production.
In the future, the corporation plans to produce tank and artillery ammunition.
