The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has conducted a series of successful operations against Russia’s strategic facilities and infrastructure. Notably, all operations took place within a day.
According to intelligence sources, in recent days, the GRU has carried out a number of sabotage and reconnaissance activities in Russia:
- The defeat of military aircraft:
- Mi-28 and Ka-226 helicopters were damaged on the territory of the Mil and Kamov National Helicopter Center in Moscow Oblast.
- An Mi-8 multipurpose helicopter is destroyed at the Kryazh airfield in Samara.
- A TU-22M3 long-range supersonic bomber-missile carrier is damaged at the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region.
- Attacks on military airfields:
- The airfields in Engels (Saratov region), Dyagilevo (Ryazan region) and Olenya (Murmansk region) were struck.
- Cyberattack on the financial sector of the Russian Federation:
- Online services of leading Russian banks, Internet providers, social networks and payment systems were affected.
- ATMs were blocked, which led to problems with cash withdrawals.
- Access to databases of Russian financial institutions was obtained.
These operations demonstrate a significant expansion of the DIU’s capabilities in conducting complex activities that include both physical damage to military facilities and cyber attacks on the enemy’s critical infrastructure.
