Iran congratulates Ukraine on Independence Day

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran has officially congratulated Ukraine on the 33rd anniversary of its Independence. The message appeared on the official page of the Iranian Foreign Ministry on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

“The Islamic Republic of Iran congratulates the government and people of Ukraine on Independence Day,” the post reads, accompanied by an image with the flags of both countries against the background of the Iranian Foreign Ministry emblem.

It is worth noting that such diplomatic greetings are a common practice in international relations.

This greeting demonstrates the continuation of official diplomatic relations between Tehran and Kyiv, despite the difficult international situation. And especially in the context of allied relations between Russia and Iran.

Ukraine and Iran have a long history of diplomatic relations, which were established in 1992, shortly after Ukraine’s independence.

At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side has not officially commented on this congratulation from Iran.
