Explosion at a Russian base: GUR continues strikes in Syria

Sources of the InfoLight.UA Research and Analysis Group in the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU ) confirm the Kyiv Post’s information about a successful operation of the special unit “Chemist” against a Russian military base in Syria.

According to Kyiv Post sources, the attack took place on the morning of September 15 on the southeastern outskirts of Aleppo. The journalists have exclusive video footage confirming the operation.

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the attacked base was used by the Russian military to produce and test attack UAVs, as well as to create “camouflaged improvised explosive devices.” The facility also stored warheads for these devices.

The video obtained by the editorial office shows a flag of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine not far from the garage, which, according to sources, was used as a Russian base. Shortly afterward, a powerful explosion occurred at the facility, followed by the detonation of ammunition.

Explosives experts who analyzed the video at InfoLight.UA’s request believe that the explosion was most likely caused by a rifle bullet, not an RPG shot. It is possible that the bullet hit the explosives, which, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, had been previously planted inside the facility.

We would like to remind you that at the end of July 2024, our sources in the intelligence services reported another operation of the “Chemist” unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in Syria. At that time, the target of the attack was Russian military equipment at the Kuwait City airfield, located east of Aleppo.
