Political analyst Ihor Reiterovych criticized journalists and bloggers who distort the statements of the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov. According to him, this plays into the hands of the enemy.
During the program “Zrada & Peremoha” with political analyst Svitlana Kushnir on the socio-political platform “Intervisor”, political scientist, PhD in Political Science Ihor Reiterovych said that some media outlets deliberately take Budanov’s words out of context and distort them in a way that is harmful to Ukraine.
“It’s time to realize, perhaps in the fourth year of the war, that many of the things he says have a component related to his direct activities,” the expert said.
Reiterovich explained that Budanov is neither a politician nor a typical military officer, but a figure fulfilling a complex mission in the information war against Russia. That is why his public statements should be treated strategically, and not just picked out for hype or manipulation.
“He is fulfilling his task, including the ISDS against Russia… So you can comment, but you can’t openly distort it and then use it against Ukraine…” Reiterovich added.
