Despite the Kremlin’s constant propaganda about “traditional values” and Vladimir Putin’s statements about the “war on LGBT people,” the reality is very different from the official statements of the Russian authorities.
The “I Want to Live” project, which helps Russian soldiers who want to surrender, has released some of the materials found on the phone of an occupier recently killed in the Sumy sector. The Conservative Platform editorial office also received additional evidence. We are publishing some of them.

In particular, we are talking about a serviceman of the 30th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 72nd Division of the 44th Army Corps of the Leningrad Military District of the Russian Federation, Oleksandr Anatoliyovych Maksymov (born on 11.11.2002, call sign “Tatar”). Numerous “hot” photos and videos of a homosexual nature, as well as correspondence with men, were found in the occupier’s smartphone, clearly confirming his sexual orientation.

These materials discredit not only the occupier itself, but also the entire Russian army, which declares its fight against LGBT people while concealing the spread of such practices in its own ranks. In addition, high-profile scandals regularly arise among the elites and the Kremlin elite, which also includes many representatives of the LGBT community. This should be an important factor for American and European conservatives, who sometimes mistakenly support the Kremlin on the issue of “traditional values.”
According to global statistics, the share of LGBT people is approximately 5-7%. Therefore, among the 1.5 million Russian military personnel, there may be about 100,000 people of non-traditional sexual orientation, which is completely contrary to Kremlin propaganda.
Ukraine, unlike Russia, does not persecute LGBT people, even though the vast majority of Ukrainians are Christians and adhere to traditional values. Therefore, Russian soldiers who find themselves in danger because of their sexual orientation can seek help from the I Want to Live project, which guarantees them a safe way out of the situation and a humane stay.
