Ukraine has connected a gas turbine mini-tower plant received from the United States to the grid. The head of the Union of Consumers of Public Utilities, Oleh Popenko, wrote about this on his social media page.

According to him, it took Energoatom 16 months to launch a mobile power plant donated by USAID in early 2023.

This equipment will help:

▪️збільшити the Ukrainian power system generating capacity of 25 MW;
▪️швидко to restore power to NPPs at least for their own needs in case of power outages;
▪️забезпечити critical infrastructure and civilian population with electricity and heat.

“It is working,” said Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities on Monday, June 17. “This is much-needed equipment from our American partners that will help increase Ukraine’s power generating capacity by 25 MW, allow for rapid restoration of power to NPPs at least for their own needs in case of power outages as a result of rocket or artillery shelling, and will also ensure critical infrastructure and civilian security.

The power plant, manufactured in the United States by General Electric, was brought to Ukraine in February last year.
