On the night of April 26-27, 2024, the Ukrainian hacker group BO Team<\/a><\/strong> together with the Main Intelligence Directorate launched a coordinated cyberattack on the Russian telecommunications company JSC MTT, a subsidiary of one of the largest telecommunications operators, PJSC MTS.<\/p>\n\n

According to Infolight.UA<\/strong>, Ukrainian cyber specialists were able to penetrate the company’s network equipment before the attack began. On the night of April 26-27, they initiated the destruction of software and configuration files in all network equipment. <\/p>\n\n

Following the cyberattack, many regions of Russia were left without MTT services. In particular, the company’s operations have been disrupted in Moscow, Samara, St. Petersburg, Khabarovsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Volga, Ufa and Kaliningrad. Restoring the equipment will require significant effort and time due to the need to physically connect to each device. <\/p>\n\n
