Two military officers involved in the attack on two patrol policemen in Vinnytsia region were served suspicion notices of murder and attempted murder of the policemen, as well as desertion with weapons.<\/p>\n\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Office of the Prosecutor General.<\/p>\n\n

According to the investigation, the suspects left the military unit in Odesa region without permission and stole a gun assigned to one of them. When the patrol policemen stopped their car to check their documents, the suspects started shooting. One patrol policeman was killed and another was wounded. <\/p>\n\n

They face imprisonment for a term of 9 to 15 years or life imprisonment.<\/p>\n\n

Earlier, a vehicle used by the wanted persons and ammunition were found in Vinnytsia region.<\/p>\n\n

Also, during the investigation, a weapon was found – probably the murder weapon.<\/p>\n\n

Currently, investigative actions are being conducted with the suspects and the issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.<\/p>\n\n

The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Vinnytsia region and the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv. <\/p>\n\n

Earlier, the Interior Ministry’s KORD special forces detained<\/a> the killers of 20-year-old police officer Maksym Zaretskyi in the village of Lypetske, Podil district, Odesa region. The National Police reported that they were planning to go abroad.
