Arab Council in Ukraine strongly condemns Russian missile attack on Kyiv hospitals

від Юрій Гончаренко July 10, 2024

Kyiv, Ukraine – On July 10, 2024, the Arab Council in Ukraine issued a statement strongly condemning the latest missile attack by Russian forces on hospitals in Kyiv on July 8. The attack killed thirty-three people, including four children, and injured more than one hundred and twenty. Two hospitals were destroyed, including Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital, and two residential buildings were partially destroyed.

The statement emphasizes that Russian troops continue to bring grief, death and destruction, terrorizing the sick, children and the elderly to break the spirit of the Ukrainian people and cause a humanitarian crisis, InfoLight.UA Research and Analysis Group reports.

The Arab Council in Ukraine strongly condemned Russia’s aggression against the civilian population of Ukraine and expressed its full support for the Ukrainian people in their right to resist and fight until complete victory. The organization called on all countries of the world, especially Arab and Islamic countries, to continue to exert maximum pressure on Russia to stop the aggression.

The council also demanded the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the entire territory of Ukraine and punishment for all organizers of the aggression. In its statement, the council reaffirmed its support for the unity, integrity and independence of Ukraine, expressing pride in the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people and army.

In conclusion, the Arab Council in Ukraine reaffirmed its solidarity with the Ukrainian people and expressed confidence in Ukraine’s victory over the aggressor.

Ukrainian hackers carry out another cyberattack on Russian network infrastructure in response to Russia’s missile strike on Okhmatdyt children’s hospital

від Юрій Гончаренко July 9, 2024

Ukrainian hackers have launched another cyberattack on Russian network infrastructure in response to Russia’s missile attack on the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv on July 8. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.

According to RBC-Ukraine, the cyberattack destroyed numerous servers, sent a mass text message saying “This is for you for Okhmatdyt!”, disabled network equipment and video surveillance systems, and erased hundreds of terabytes of important data.

This time, the targets of the cyberattack were the Regional Clinical Hospital of Russian Railways Perm, FD-Telecom LLC, and VAPK LLC (a Volgograd-based agro-industrial company).

Thus, as a result of the operation, 174 virtual and one physical server were destroyed, 51 terabytes of information were deleted, the video surveillance system was destroyed, and direct financial losses of 360 thousand rubles were caused.

At the same time, the cyberattack on the Perm Regional Clinical Hospital of Russian Railways resulted in the destruction of 70 doctors’ personal computers, file storages, corporate mail, 12 virtual servers, and three hypervisors. Network equipment, including switches, routers, and internal telephony, was also destroyed.

Photos of the destruction and injured children during the July 8 terrorist rocket attack on the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv appeared on the personal computers of the staff of the attacked facilities.

Among other things, the hospital’s answering machine was hacked: when patients tried to call the medical facility, the answering machine, instead of a standard message, gave out true information about the criminal actions of the Russian leadership and the war crimes of the Russian army.

In addition, as a result of the cyberattack, two computers at VAPC LLC were encrypted, along with data of about 3 terabytes, including acts, invoices, contracts, and accounting documents.

The Conservative Platform calls on Christians around the world to act in response to the missile strike on Ohmadiyya

від Юрій Гончаренко July 8, 2024

On July 8, a Russian missile attack in Kyiv hit the premises of the National Children’s Specialized Hospital “Okhmatdyt”, and there are victims. The rubble is currently being cleared, and the number of victims and injured is constantly increasing.

In this regard, the Conservative Platform appeals to all Christians of the world, to those who profess these values, with a call. The full text is below, please share it, especially in Europe and the United States.

Russian attack on Okhmatdyt: a crime against humanity and cynicism without limits

Russia has launched a cynical and insidious missile attack on Ukraine’s main children’s hospital, Okhmatdyt. The direct hit of the missile led to large-scale destruction, the exact consequences of which will be known later, but the first photos and videos show a horrific violation of the rules and customs of war, the mass murder of innocent children and their parents. This incident also proves once again that talk of the high accuracy of Russian weapons is a myth designed to mislead the international community.

By fighting children and striking a crowded hospital in the morning, Russia has committed a crime against humanity. This act of cruelty goes beyond even the worst imaginings of war. Children in need of treatment and support have become victims of an unheard of atrocity. At the same time as the attack, one of the main ideologues of the Russian Empire, Alexander Dugin, who is often quoted in the West by conservative media, congratulated Christians on the family holiday. What could be more cynical than congratulating families on a holiday when the lives of innocent children are being destroyed?

The Bible reminds us that “the devil often dresses as a righteous man” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Russia is just such a devil. It is a lying beast that knows no pity, its words are deceit. Not a word of it can be trusted.

With all its actions, Russia is showing its true face – the face of a beast that lives in hatred and destroys everything in its path. There is no excuse for such actions, and there is no forgiveness for those who fight against children.

Christians in Europe and the United States, now is the time to act. Your support can help defeat the anti-human, anti-Christian empire. Do not remain indifferent to the suffering of the innocent, raise your voice against this evil. As Psalm 82:4 says, “Defend the poor and the orphan, deliver the oppressed and the poor from the hands of the wicked.” It is time to stop this ungodly aggression and protect those who cannot defend themselves.

Now is not the time for silence. Each of us must do our part in the fight against this beast. We cannot allow evil to prevail. Christians around the world, unite in prayer and action for peace and justice!

How Christian Democratic Parties Moved to the “Golden Mean”

від Майданюк Валерій July 8, 2024

Many Christian democratic parties in Europe were initially on the left, but after the economic recovery and the solution of workers’ material problems, they shifted from social extremes to centrism.

The Berlin organization, like most other CDU organizations, was dominated by left-wing sentiment. Among the Berlin bureau, the most influential were such authoritative left-wing figures as Andreas Hermes and Jakob Kaiser. The reputation of these two politicians was based on the fact that they did not betray their own views and did not compromise with the Nazi regime even in prison.

Both Hermes and the Kaiser were sincere supporters of “socialism based on Christian responsibility,” of Germany’s neutral status, which would become a “bridge” between the Western democracies and the Soviet Union. It was largely thanks to Hermes and the Kaiser that the concept of the “bridge” became popular in Germany at the time.

Given that Berlin was partially part of the Soviet occupation zone, the Soviet authorities could influence the processes in the Berlin bureau. Soviet declassified documents clearly state that the goal of the Soviet authorities was to influence the CDU in all zones of occupation by taking control of the Berlin Bureau. The Soviet occupation authorities could not think of a better option than pressure and repression.

Arrests, searches, intimidation-these were the methods used to put pressure on the Berlin Bureau. Due to the direct demands of the Soviet authorities, the CDU Berlin Bureau changed its leadership several times.

Despite the constant change of leadership and constant pressure on the Berlin CDU, it managed to establish high-quality work with party activists, the evangelical church, and Christian trade unions. The activity of the party’s Christian social welfare committees played a significant role.

In the 1946 state elections in the Soviet occupation zone, the Christian Democrats achieved quite good results despite great administrative pressure. The CDU began to become the second strongest party in East Germany.

The Berlin CDU secured the status of the most authoritative organization among the Christian unions in all zones of occupation. One way or another, the CDU managed to establish partnerships with the Soviet occupation administration. However, like any totalitarian regime, the Soviet government did not need partners. The USSR only needed satellites.

In late 1947 and early 1948, the pressure on the Berlin CDU reached its peak. More than 600 activists of the Christian Democratic Union were forced to leave the Soviet occupation zone. Among them were Andreas Hermes and Jakob Kaiser. In East Germany, although the CDU continued to exist, direct Soviet agents were put in charge of the organizations.

While the leadership of the Berlin CDU had previously been undisputed, in 1948 a leadership vacuum developed in the party. As a result, Konrad Adenauer, who had been uninfluential until then, gradually came to the forefront, pursuing a purely centrist domestic and maximally pro-Western foreign policy.

Later, in the first half of the 1950s, the USSR made enormous efforts to prevent the integration of the Adenauer-led Germany into Euro-Atlantic structures. But Adenauer’s unequivocal pro-Western stance put an end to these plans.

Paradoxically, but for the defeat of the Berlin CDU, left-wing circles would have remained dominant in the party. Most likely, a consensus of the CDU and the SPD would have developed in Germany, so the Kremlin would have easily achieved what it had been trying to achieve so unsuccessfully in the first half of the 1950s.

Centrism as a concept is still relevant for Christian democratic parties today. Although for a long time both left-wing parties, part of the press, and Soviet propaganda labeled Christian Democratic parties as “conservatives,” Christian Democrats themselves tried to avoid this term and continued to persistently position themselves as centrists.

There were two reasons for avoiding the term “conservative” in European continental political culture. First, the political memory was still alive with memories of conservative circles’ support for the rise to power of the Nazis and the Fascists. Secondly, the discourse of the second half of the twentieth century was largely based on the concepts of “progress,” “dynamics,” and “development.” Accordingly, any political force in continental Europe was unwilling to oppose this discourse, even at the semantic level.

Conservatism and democracy

від Майданюк Валерій July 7, 2024

In the past, two centuries ago, conservatism and liberalism were opposites in their views on democracy, and today conservatives are almost the only supporters of true democracy.

The right of the majority, freedom of speech, equality of all instead of privilege have traditionally been considered the fundamental principles of democracy. But in the twenty-first century, under the influence of the ideas of the New Left, liberalism began to move away from these principles in favor of what some see as “social justice.” Conservatism, on the other hand, has moved to the position of defending authentic democracy without racial and gender quotas, without punishment for freedom of expression, without “kenselling” and bullying of people of different views.

Conservatives are concerned not only about the decline in patriotism, but also about the general decline in the West’s authority on the planet, due to the prevailing system of ideological beliefs. Twenty years ago, Asians admired Western equality, respect for human rights, and Western democracy, and were shocked to learn that women in the West have the right to drive and choose whom they marry. A few decades ago, the West was bringing progress, justice, and destroying prejudice. Today, most of the top topics in the Western media cause misunderstanding and even ridicule among Indians, Arabs, or Africans. The Economist, an influential publication, notes a growing divergence between the liberal values of the West and the rest of the world. This situation can lead to marginalization instead of leadership.

Modern conservatism advocates the return of authentic democratic principles, according to which democracy should be a government of the majority, not a dictatorship of various minorities imposing their will on the majority. Conservatives are against calling minority views “progressivism” and majority views “populism” because it destroys the very foundations of democratic governance.

Conservatives see it as a problem that freedom of speech, as one of the greatest achievements of Western societies, is under threat because your statements or views “violate someone’s standards.” In fact, they may simply not be liked by some vulnerable and complex people.

Equality, as one of the greatest achievements of liberalism, is now turning into its opposite and advocating privileges for certain categories of the population. Conservatives today remain one of the few defenders of what they used to call democracy, equality, and true freedom without an asterisk and terabytes of fine print conditions that level the true meaning of democratic values.

Telegram as a tool of the Kremlin: evidence of cooperation with Russian special services on the example of blocking the channel of the Ingush Independence Committee (KIN)

від Юрій Гончаренко July 4, 2024

Yesterday, the Telegram administration shut down the channel of the Ingushetia Independence Committee (IIC), which caused outrage among activists and observers. This closure was the culmination of a campaign of discrediting the KIIC, which was actively promoted by Kremlin propagandists. Such actions on the part of Telegram are a reminder of the platform’s close ties to Russian special services and its involvement in the suppression of national movements.

The closure of the KIN channel coincided with the escalation of events in Dagestan, where the situation is spiraling out of control. Armed clashes between the local underground and the Russian occupiers in Ingushetia are becoming more frequent, and the latest events in Dagestan only emphasize the scale of the problem. The Kremlin is already forced to refuse to take prisoners and bodies of dead Dagestanis from Ukraine in order not to provoke the local population’s indignation.

This is not the first time Telegram has cooperated with Russian special services. In the fall of 2023, during the protests in Dagestan, the Morning of Dagestan channel was closed, and in the winter, during mass protests in Bashkortostan, a number of channels of the Bashkir national liberation movement were closed. These actions demonstrate the systematic support of the Kremlin’s platform of interests and the suppression of independent voices.

The Ingush Independence Committee promptly created a new channel, addressing its subscribers with the following message:

In the name of Allah, the most gracious and merciful! Assalamu alaykum waroohmatullahi wabarakatuhu! Our previous channel was deleted by Telegram for reasons unknown to us (possibly at the request of the Russian special services). Please subscribe to the new one: https://t.me/ingcommitte/4. We will continue our work as usual. The removal of the channel will not affect our activities in any way, but rather indicates the correctness and effectiveness of our work. Allahu gho dolda wa ta’ala!

This situation has only strengthened their resolve to continue the struggle for independence and the rights of their people, despite the repression and pressure from the Russian special services.

Another example of Telegram’s cooperation with the Kremlin was the manipulation around the terrorist attack in Crocus City. The Cheka-OGPU channel published a fake post about the search for residents of Ingushetia, which was later deleted. However, an analysis of the TGStat data showed that this post was not even among the deleted ones, which may indicate that Telegram was involved in special operations by Russian special services.

These facts only confirm that Telegram is actively used by the Kremlin to control and manipulate the information space. This is yet another proof that Telegram is not an independent service, but a tool of repression and censorship that always comes to the aid of Russian special services in suppressing national movements and protests.

DIU’s special operation was a fire on the Russian missile ship “Serpukhov”

від Савицький Олексій July 3, 2024

The Legion “Freedom of Russia” and a representative of the GUR Andrey Yusov gave a press conference and said that the fire on the ship was started by a Russian military man who is now a recruit of the Legion with the call sign “Goga.” The Russian served on the “Serpukhov” and for a long time helped the Ukrainian special services, and then organized a diversion.

“Goga” got in touch with the Legion in 2023 as an active duty member of the Baltic Fleet with a security clearance. For a long time, at the risk of his own life, he provided the Legion with important information. After his stay on the ship and further work in favor of the resistance forces became threatening, active actions were planned and carried out inside the ship. As a result of the sabotage, it was possible to destroy the ship’s premises from the inside and completely destroy the means of communication and automation.

Together with the secret documents, Gogu was taken to Ukraine.

As you know, the Serpukhov was on fire on April 7 when it was docked in the city of Baltiysk (Kaliningrad Oblast). The GUR said that the fire had completely destroyed communications and automation, so the ship’s repairs would be lengthy. They did not give any details at the time, but published a video with a plan of the ship and the moment of arson.

“The Serpukhov of the 21631 Buyan-M project is a fairly new ship. It was launched in 2015. It is armed with Kalibr and Oniks cruise missiles, which Russia uses to attack Ukraine.

SBU detains FSB agents: criminal group included two military men and a woman with changeable wigs

від Савицький Олексій July 2, 2024

The SBU neutralized an FSB agent group operating in Odesa. The enemy cell consisted of two military officers and their accomplice.

They reconnoitered the locations of air defense systems defending Odesa. They covertly photographed them and marked the corresponding geolocations on Google maps.

To establish the relevant coordinates, the agents systematically traveled around the regional center and its surrounding areas.

If the “right” objects were found, they were covertly photographed and the corresponding geolocations were marked on Google maps.

Another task of the enemy group was to install wireless magnetic cameras in the territory of the Odesa seaport in a disguised manner.

For conspiracy, the enemy agents used taxi services, and their accomplice disguised her appearance by constantly changing wigs.

The SBU documented all the facts of the aggressor’s reconnaissance and subversive activities in stages and detained a resident of the FSB agent group and his accomplice when they were taking pictures of a military facility.

Another member of the hostile cell, a local resident, was detained in her own home after she conducted reconnaissance near a potential target.

The SBU also took comprehensive measures to secure the locations of Ukrainian troops.

During the searches, the detainees’ cell phones were seized, which they had purchased separately and used exclusively for communication with the FSB.

SBU investigators served the defendants suspicion notices under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed by an organized group under martial law).

The criminals are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment.

Centrism. Christian Democratic Parties at the Beginning of the Cold War

від Майданюк Валерій July 1, 2024

The fact that Christian democratic parties emerged as part of resistance movements brought Christian democrats closer to socialists and communists. All of these parties were united by an appeal to social justice, a belief in the need for state intervention in the economy, and a rejection of liberal economic policies. It seemed that coalitions of former resistance forces-socialists, communists, and Christian democrats-would become dominant in Europe. If this scenario had been realized, it is likely that the history of the second half of the twentieth century would have been very different. Europe would most likely have become neutral, which would have significantly strengthened the position of the USSR in the Cold War.

Since 1947, geopolitical changes have taken place in the world that have significantly weakened the leftist influence in Christian democratic parties.

In the early postwar years, the Communists were considered one of the democratic parties in the West. They were seen as a reformist party that recognized elections and called for the establishment of democratic parliamentary republics in Europe. Both the victorious countries and European societies perceived the Communists as a full partner in the anti-fascist consensus.

It became a European norm that communists were part of coalition governments of the countries and individual states of occupied Germany. But the Kremlin’s unexpected turn and its demand that communist parties confront “bourgeois governments” significantly changed the European agenda. It is the policy of the Kremlin and the communists it controls that has contributed to the strengthening of centrist tendencies in Christian democratic parties.

As a result of the 1946 elections, a coalition was formed in France, which included the PCF, Christian Democrats, and Socialists. But in 1947, the Soviets demanded that the Communist Party, which they sponsored, leave the coalition and begin a confrontation with the “bourgeois government of France.” This change of political course came as a surprise to the Christian Democrats, the Socialists, and the French Communists themselves.

As a result of the confrontation between the Communists and other forces, other parties, including the Christian Democrats, made a significant shift to the right. Although the People’s Republican Movement later remained the most left-wing of all Christian democratic parties in Europe, the PRM unequivocally supported the creation of NATO, established cooperation with Germany, and rejected any possible alliance with the Communists as extremely unreliable partners.

Events in Italy followed a similarly confrontational scenario. During the war, both communist and Christian Democratic partisans, along with other parties, managed to establish cooperation and create the National Liberation Committee. This committee formed the postwar government of Italy.

In the postwar period, at the insistence of the USSR, Italian communists began to pursue a policy of fierce confrontation. Cooperation between other parties and the Communists seemed almost unrealistic. Accordingly, the left-wing circles in the Christian Democratic Party of Italy were weakened.

The results of the first postwar parliamentary elections in Italy were as follows: Christian Democrats – 48.51%, People’s Democratic Front (a bloc of the Italian Communist Party and the Italian Socialist Party) – 30.98%.

To this day, one can hear the opinion that the 1948 election results were won by the CDU due to American intervention and the influence of the Catholic Church. Neither the CDU’s alliance with the Vatican nor the American assistance can be denied, but the main reasons for the victory were completely different.

While the CDP emphasized the need to normalize and stabilize life in the country, the Communists emphasized the need for confrontation with the “bourgeois government.” This is what drove a significant number of voters away from the ICP.

The fact that the Communists were in favor of handing over Trieste, whose main population was Italian, to Communist Yugoslavia, also worked against them.

These factors were decisive in the election defeat of the Communists and the victory of the Christian Democrats.

Of course, there have always been conservative circles within European Christian democratic parties, but they have traditionally had little influence on the policies of their own parties.

A certain change in attitudes toward the word conservative occurred in the 1980s during the so-called “neoconservative revolution.” Neocons changed not only the economy but also discursive practices. The words “conservative,” “neocon,” and “liberal economics” became prestigious and symbolized success, strength, efficiency, and dynamism. Most Christian democratic parties began to position themselves as an association of centrist, conservative, and liberal politicians. However, positioning does not always equal practice. The ideology of Christian democratic parties continued to be based on the fusion of centrist and leftist ideas that had been laid down in the 1940s and 1950s.
