The Information Space of Ukraine: Challenges and Ways of Reform in the Context of Christian Democratic Values

від Юрій Гончаренко March 12, 2025

Ukraine’s information space is currently under unprecedented pressure from external and internal factors. The hybrid war waged by Russia has turned the information sphere into one of the key fronts of confrontation, where systematic attacks on the consciousness of citizens, state institutions and social unity are taking place. Under these conditions, the formation of an effective information policy becomes a matter of national security and preservation of state sovereignty.

The current state of Ukraine’s information space is characterized by a complex interweaving of challenges, including large-scale disinformation campaigns organized by Russian special services, regular cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, and growing dependence on foreign technology platforms. At the same time, the country’s information environment suffers from internal problems: insufficient media literacy of a large part of the population, which makes it vulnerable to manipulation; oligarchic concentration of media resources, which limits the pluralism of opinions; imperfect legislative framework in the field of information security and regional fragmentation of the information space.

Reforming the information sector on the basis of Christian democratic ideology involves finding a harmonious balance between necessary security measures and fundamental freedoms. The center of this approach is a person with his or her dignity and the right to reliable information. The information space should serve the development of the individual and not turn him or her into an object of propaganda or commercial manipulation. Freedom of speech and expression, being a fundamental value, must be balanced by responsibility for the information disseminated. At the same time, the state should intervene in the information sphere only when civil society, media and individual citizens cannot effectively counter threats on their own, which is in line with the principle of subsidiarity.

Protection against disinformation and information threats requires a comprehensive approach, including the development of modern legislation, the creation of an effective system for monitoring the information space, and the development of strategic communications. Legislative changes should strike a balance between national security and democratic freedoms, in line with European standards and taking into account the realities of hybrid warfare. The information space monitoring system should ensure early detection of disinformation campaigns and coordinate responses to them. Strategic communications of the state should be based on the principles of truthfulness and transparency, ensuring prompt response to disinformation and formation of its own information agenda.

The development of responsible and ethical media is a key element of a healthy information space. Public broadcasting, free from political and commercial influence, should become a reliable source of information and a platform for public dialogue. Media pluralism, which implies a diversity of media, including local and specialized ones, ensures that the interests of different groups of society are represented. Transparency of media ownership allows citizens to understand the possible influences and interests behind certain media. Self-regulation of the media market through professional codes of ethics and independent journalistic ethics bodies helps to improve the quality of the information product and trust in the media.

Ukraine’s digital sovereignty is gaining strategic importance in the current environment. The development of national digital platforms as alternatives to global social networks and other digital services ensures the availability of national options in strategically important areas without isolating the country from the global digital space. Protection of personal data of citizens in accordance with European standards includes both legislative guarantees and technical solutions to ensure confidentiality. Promoting the development of Ukrainian-language content on the Internet and adapting global platforms to Ukrainian realities strengthen national identity in the digital space. Active digital diplomacy allows Ukraine to influence the formation of international rules and standards for the digital space, using its unique experience in countering information threats.

Information literacy of the population determines the resilience of society to manipulation and disinformation. Including media literacy in educational programs at all levels, conducting information campaigns to raise awareness of information threats, supporting independent fact-checking projects, and creating dialogue platforms to discuss socially important issues create a culture of critical thinking and responsible information consumption.

Reforming Ukraine’s information space should be carried out in close cooperation with international partners, especially in the context of European integration. Harmonizing Ukrainian legislation on information policy and media with EU standards, actively participating in international initiatives to counter disinformation, studying and adapting the successful experience of European countries, and implementing joint projects with EU partners will help attract additional resources and expertise.

The strategy of restoring the information space in the de-occupied territories requires special attention. Rebuilding the damaged information infrastructure, expanding the coverage of Ukrainian broadcasting, providing access to the Internet, implementing information reintegration programs aimed at overcoming the effects of Russian propaganda, documenting cases of disinformation and enemy information operations, supporting the development of local media – all this will help restore the country’s unified information space.

The Christian democratic approach to reforming Ukraine’s information space is aimed at creating an environment that respects the dignity of every person, ensures the right to reliable information, supports pluralism of opinions and a responsible attitude to the information disseminated. In the context of war and global information challenges, this approach helps to preserve democratic values while providing reliable protection against disinformation and manipulation.

Creating an effective regulatory framework, developing institutional capacity in the field of information security, supporting media pluralism, investing in digital sovereignty, systematic development of media literacy, international cooperation and creating platforms for constructive dialogue – these strategic directions will allow Ukraine to form a stable and democratic information space capable of effectively countering external threats and promoting the development of a society based on the values of human dignity, freedom, responsibility and freedom of speech.

Principles of Formation of a Christian Democratic Party in Ukraine

від Юрій Гончаренко March 5, 2025

Ukraine is at the crossroads of historic challenges that require not only effective political solutions but also a moral response to deep social upheaval. War, institutional weakness, moral devastation, and the search for national identity all create a need for a new political movement that combines values with responsibility, tradition with modernization. The Christian Democratic Party can become just such a project if it is built on solid foundations.

1. Ideological basis: personalism, responsibility, subsidiarity, solidarity

Christian democracy is not a religious party, but a political ideology that has its origins in Christian social teaching, but is adapted to a pluralistic, democratic and open society. Its foundation is personalism – the recognition of the dignity of each person as an autonomous and responsible being. It is a counterweight to both totalitarianism and relativistic individualism.

Political freedom is inseparable from responsibility: to one’s neighbors, to the community, to the state. That is why Christian democracy advocates subsidiarity – the transfer of authority to the lowest effective level – and solidarity – active participation in supporting the weak, rather than passive redistribution of resources.

2. Ukrainian context: why Christian democracy is relevant now

Most Ukrainians identify with Christian traditions. At the same time, there is a deep disillusionment with both leftist utopias and irresponsible liberalism that has led to the oligarchization of society. After the Revolution of Dignity and in the context of a full-scale war, society is striving for justice, dignity, and truth – values that are at the heart of Christian democracy.

Ukraine’s European choice also logically pushes for the establishment of the national Christian democratic tradition, as this ideology has been the basis of the EU’s political architecture since Robert Schuman, Konrad Adenauer, and Alcide de Gasperi.

3. Organizational structure: openness, transparency, dignity

The party should be built from the bottom up – on the basis of communities, local initiatives, Christian associations, the middle class, veterans, volunteers, and entrepreneurs. Its centers should not be just headquarters before the elections, but permanent centers of solidarity, education, and places where people meet with values.

Decisions should be made on the basis of internal democracy and open discussion. It is important to introduce mechanisms for ethical assessment of candidates, transparent financing, and public accountability of the leadership. The party should set an example of internal moral hygiene.

4. Political program: rebuilding on the basis of dignity

The Christian Democratic Party should offer society a specific program based on these principles:

  • Dignity economy: support for social market economy, small business, farming, fair taxation, labor protection;
  • The state as a service: public administration reform, decentralization, digitalization, and the rule of law;
  • Social cohesion: fair pension and healthcare systems, family support, assistance to war victims, inclusive education;
  • Moral politics: rejection of populism, culture of responsibility, fight against corruption as a moral evil;
  • National identity: development of the Ukrainian language, culture, and historical memory without the extremes of nationalism;
  • The European way: integration into the EU on the basis of common values, preservation of subjectivity.

5. Communication: clear, human, hopeful

The language of the party should not be bureaucratic or theological. It should be human, understandable, and honest. It should not intimidate, but inspire. Not to divide, but to unite. Not to promise everything, but to offer a way.

Christian democracy is the language of hope. At a time when Ukrainians are tired, confused, and wounded, they need a political force that not only knows what to do, but also why to do it. And which does not say: “Give us power,” but “Let’s become stronger together.”

6. Conclusion: time of establishment and time of validity

The time has come not only to talk about Christian democracy but also to build it as a political force. This should be a new type of party – not a club of functionaries, not a technical platform, not a fan club of an individual, but an instrument of moral and political revival. Christian democracy is not a nostalgia – it is a response to the future.

European Defense Union: Realities and Prospects

від Юрій Гончаренко March 3, 2025

Following the events that have taken place in the United States over the past month, the idea of creating a European defense alliance has become more relevant in case NATO fails and our partners across the Atlantic do not come to our aid.

Europe has long relied on the defense of its American partners, but the current unpredictability of the White House’s policy may call into question the decades-old security guarantees.

This situation is creating a growing sense of impunity on the part of Russia, which has never been afraid of the international community’s opinion before, and now feels even more confident. Today, there is no guarantee that Washington will respond under Article 5 of the Alliance’s charter if Putin wants to commit aggression against the Baltic states under the pretext of harassing Russian speakers. Or with regard to Poland, demanding a “Polish corridor” through Suwalki to “blockaded Kaliningrad.” Indeed, Russia has never had such a convenient chance to attack Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, or Poland as it does now, against the backdrop of the current statements from Washington. Putin can easily take this as a chance that should not be missed, given the age of the Russian tyrant.

No one is sure that instead of a decisive response, the alternative will not be negotiations with the aggressor, appeals from victims of aggression to compromise, or some economic agreement with an asterisk on rare earth metals, which, by the way, are much more abundant in Poland than in Ukraine, ranking 14th in the world.

European state leaders must take care of the security of their citizens without the false hope that they will be helped in the event of a potential Russian invasion. Therefore, it is time to form a new, backup military alliance on the continent. Everyone understands that the NATO umbrella may soon be gone, and that is why new security alliances should be formed.

Friedrich Merz, leader of the center-right CDU/CSU alliance and potential future German Chancellor, said he wants Europe to be “independent” from the United States and expressed concern about the future of NATO. According to him, the Americans are less and less interested in the fate of Europe, which is forcing Germany to reconsider its defense policy. Merz expressed doubts about the future existence of NATO and the prospects for its preservation in its current format. “I’m very interested to see how we are heading to the NATO summit at the end of June – whether we will still be talking about NATO in its current form or whether we will have to create an independent European defense capability much faster,” the future German Chancellor said.

It is significant that Ukraine would be a desirable and even key participant in such a potential security alliance, since today only Ukrainians have stopped the so-called “second army of the world,” while some major powers have already capitulated to it morally. Ukraine is of strategic importance in the event of a potential Russian attack on Poland or the Baltic states. No successful European defense campaign against a Russian invasion is possible without Ukraine.

A potential security alliance between Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic states, and Finland could be the core of a broader European defense union. Today, the entire European continent is facing a threat that requires decisive solutions. And if anyone in Europe still thinks that Russia is only a problem for Ukraine, it is time to wake up before the air raid sirens wake them up.

Economic challenges and prospects for Ukraine’s recovery

від Юрій Гончаренко February 27, 2025

The Ukrainian economy is going through unprecedented challenges caused by the war, the destruction of infrastructure, declining investment and a significant outflow of labour. At the same time, these challenges open up opportunities for a fundamental transformation of the country’s economic model and its adaptation to new realities. The Christian democratic approach, which combines market mechanisms with social responsibility, support for the middle class and sustainable development strategies, plays an important role in this process.

Budget visnazhennya budgets and growth of debt burden

After a significant drop in GDP in 2022, Ukraine’s economy is showing signs of recovery, but growth remains fragile. The bulk of budget revenues are allocated to defense needs, and a significant deficit is covered by international aid and external borrowing. This increases inflationary pressures and the debt burden.

To strengthen financial stability, domestic sources of revenue should be boosted by stimulating production, especially in the defense sector, which can be a catalyst for economic growth. Modernization of enterprises, public investment in strategic industries, and support for small and medium-sized businesses through tax incentives will help strengthen economic resilience. One of the most important areas is the transparent and efficient use of budget funds, which will minimize corruption risks and increase the efficiency of public administration.

Investment attractiveness and capital investment

The unstable security situation makes it difficult to attract investment, as risks to capital remain high. The lack of reliable war risk insurance mechanisms and problems in the judicial system deter international investors.

To improve the investment climate, it is important to introduce special war risk insurance programs in partnership with international financial institutions. It is also necessary to simplify regulatory procedures, create special economic zones with preferential conditions, and expand public-private partnerships for the implementation of large infrastructure projects. Protecting investors’ rights, reforming the judiciary, and actively positioning Ukraine as a promising market internationally will help to build trust.

Staff outflow and labor potential

Mass migration and mobilization of the working-age population have had a significant impact on the labor market, causing a shortage of skilled workers. This reduces economic productivity and creates additional challenges for businesses.

One way to solve this problem is to expand vocational retraining and retraining programs. Particular emphasis should be placed on engaging women, veterans, and internally displaced persons in economic activity. An important strategy is also to create competitive working conditions that will allow the return of Ukrainians who have moved abroad. In addition, the introduction of digital technologies, automation of production, and the development of remote employment will help to retain the workforce.

Energy security and sustainability of the energy system

Targeted attacks on the energy infrastructure caused significant disruptions in power supply, which complicated the work of businesses and worsened living conditions for the population. The strategic objective is to diversify energy sources, expand the use of renewable energy and develop local generation.

Increased investment in solar and wind energy and the introduction of energy storage technologies will help to increase the autonomy of the energy system. Ukraine’s integration into the European energy grid is also an important element in stabilizing the situation. At the same time, expanding energy efficiency programs for businesses and consumers will help reduce the load on the grid and reduce energy losses.

Restoring the agricultural sector

The agricultural sector, which is key to Ukraine’s economy, has suffered enormous losses due to the destruction of infrastructure, mined fields, and limited logistical capacity. Restoring the sector requires a comprehensive approach, including systematic land demining, rebuilding transportation infrastructure, and expanding government support for farmers.

Diversification of agricultural production, introduction of innovative technologies, development of the processing industry, and increased cooperation between small and medium-sized producers will help to increase the resilience of the agricultural sector. It is also necessary to intensify international trade diplomacy to expand export opportunities.

The balance of regional development

The war has caused a significant shift in economic activity to the west of the country, creating uneven regional development. The eastern and southern regions are experiencing economic decline, while the western regions are facing excessive pressure on infrastructure.

The equalization of regional development requires targeted support programs for the eastern and southern regions, including tax preferences for investors, infrastructure development, and job creation. In the western regions, it is important to improve transportation links and expand opportunities for the integration of internally displaced persons into local economic processes.

Conclusion.

A Christian democratic approach to Ukraine’s economic recovery involves combining market freedom with social responsibility, attracting investment, and creating equal opportunities for development in each region. Strategic planning is essential to not only restore the economy but also make it more sustainable, competitive, and socially oriented. A combination of government initiatives, international support and civic engagement will be the basis for Ukraine’s successful future.

Ukraine’s Economic Recovery from the Perspective of Christian Democracy

від Юрій Гончаренко February 26, 2025

Ukraine is going through one of the deepest crises in its history. A full-scale war, destroyed infrastructure, mass migration, and human losses are all posing a challenge to society, not only technically, but also morally. In such circumstances, economic recovery cannot be reduced to a set of reforms or investment programs. It must take place within a clear ethical framework based on human dignity, responsibility to one’s neighbor, and the pursuit of the common good. It is the Christian democratic ideology that can give this process the necessary value vector.

The social market economy model proposed by Christian Democrats is a proven tool for postwar transformation. In Germany in the 1950s, it became the basis for rapid development and social stability. This model avoids the extremes of both unrestricted capitalism, which neglects the weak, and centralized planning, which destroys freedom. Its essence is a combination of market efficiency with social justice, private initiative with social responsibility.

The center of the economic order should not be profit, but a person. The human being as a bearer of dignity, as a creator and participant in the economic process. Christian personalism does not allow reducing a person to a “labor resource” or a “consumer.” Labor is a form of self-realization, not a commodity. Therefore, the economic system should provide fair pay, social protection, opportunities for development and independence.

The principle of subsidiarity is of particular importance: decisions should be made at the level where they can be implemented most effectively. This means strengthening local government, transferring resources to communities, and decentralizing recovery funds. Post-war reconstruction should start from the bottom, on the initiative of people on the ground who know their needs better and are able to act responsibly. This approach is not only pragmatic, but also respects the dignity of everyone.

Solidarity in the Christian sense is not a manifestation of weakness, but rather the foundation of a strong, mature state. Assistance to veterans, displaced persons, large families, and the elderly is not charity, but an indicator of a civilized level. Christian democracy implies the creation of an institutional system of protection, in which the responsibility of the state is complemented by the responsibility of communities and businesses.

One of the critical resources for recovery is land. In the Christian democratic understanding, land is not just a commodity, but a common good. Land ownership has a social function and cannot be reduced to an object of speculation. Family farming, as an alternative to agroholdings, contributes to the preservation of villages, increased food security, and an ethical attitude towards the environment. It is necessary to protect the small owner, introduce legal mechanisms against excessive land concentration, and encourage responsible farming.

Investment policy should also be based on ethical principles. Investors should respect the rights of workers, environmental standards, and avoid engaging in corrupt practices. At the same time, the government must create clear rules, legal certainty and incentives for those who act responsibly. Social responsibility is not only a matter of conscience, but also the result of a clear public policy.

Economic reconstruction is impossible without a strong, morally oriented middle class. The middle class, small businesses, and farmers are the pillars of stability. Therefore, tax policy, the financial system, and administrative regulation should be aimed at creating a space of equal opportunities. Christian democracy has consistently advocated the elimination of privileges for big players and support for those who work honestly.

Ukraine is already moving towards the European Union, and most EU economies are built on principles close to Christian democracy. Implementation of such a model in Ukraine will not only be an internal need, but also an important signal to our Western partners. It will allow us to deepen integration, increase the effectiveness of international assistance, and attract responsible investors.

Post-war recovery is a chance not just to return to what was, but to build a new economy: a fair, moral, sustainable one. An economy where dignity does not contradict efficiency, and responsibility does not hinder growth. Christian democracy offers just such a vision – not as an abstract idea, but as a concrete roadmap. And it is up to us to seize this opportunity to lay the foundation for a true renewal of the nation.

Social market economy: balance of freedom and social responsibility

від Юрій Гончаренко February 23, 2025

The concept of a social market economy is one of the most successful economic approaches of our time. It emerged in the mid-20th century as a reaction to the extremes of capitalism and the planned economy, offering a “third way” of development that combines market mechanisms with government regulation and social policy. The theory is based on the principles of free enterprise, competition, and social justice, ensuring the harmonious development of society.

Historical background

After the Second World War, Germany was in a deep economic crisis: the country was devastated, inflation was reaching critical levels, and unemployment was growing. In these circumstances, it was necessary to find an effective economic model that could combine dynamic development with social guarantees. The founder of the social market economy concept was the German economist Ludwig Ehrhardt, who, as Minister of Economy of Germany in the postwar period, laid the foundations for the economic “German miracle.” His approach was to combine market mechanisms with an active role of the state in ensuring the social welfare of citizens.

Central to the social market economy is the principle of “as much market as possible, as much state as necessary”. This means that the state does not interfere in market processes if they are functioning effectively, but actively acts where social imbalances arise.

Basic principles of the social market economy

  1. Free market and competition. The state creates conditions for free competition and prevents monopolization of the economy. This ensures efficient allocation of resources, stimulates innovation and promotes entrepreneurship.
  2. Social responsibility. The state guarantees basic social standards, including access to healthcare, education, pensions and social support programs.
  3. Stable financial policy. Controlling inflation and public debt are critical to ensuring macroeconomic stability.
  4. Labor regulation. The government supports social partnership mechanisms between employers, employees and trade unions, which ensures fair distribution of income and stability in the labor market.
  5. A fair tax system. Taxes should be sufficient to finance social programs, but not so high as to hinder economic growth.

Practical results and international experience

The key feature of the model is that it does not try to equalize incomes, but seeks to create equal conditions for everyone so that everyone can realize their potential. This is achieved through affordable education, labor market development, and fair taxation. The most famous example of a successful social market economy is Germany. It is thanks to this model that the country was able to quickly recover from the war, create a strong industrial base and ensure a high standard of living for its citizens.

The social market economy is also reflected in the policies of a number of other European countries. In each of them, the model was adapted to national peculiarities, but retained the basic principles of combining market mechanisms and social guarantees.

Challenges and modern transformation

Today, the social market economy faces new challenges, such as globalization, labor automation, and demographic changes. Rising inequality, declining birth rates, and an aging population require a review of social programs and their adaptation to new conditions. In addition, the transition to environmentally friendly technologies and the need to combat climate change are forcing governments to introduce new approaches to economic regulation.

In particular, modern governments are forced to reconsider the issues of tax burden, business subsidies, and the level of social benefits. EU governments are actively using mechanisms to stimulate innovation, green economy and digital transformation. One of the modern approaches is to maintain market competitiveness by increasing labor productivity, developing artificial intelligence and automating production.

Conclusion.

The social market economy is one of the most successful models that combines the benefits of a market economy with the social responsibility of the state. It ensures economic efficiency, social justice, and stability of society. Thanks to its basic principles, it remains relevant in the 21st century, although it needs to be adapted to new challenges. In Ukraine, this model can become the basis for sustainable economic growth and harmonious development, especially in the context of post-war recovery and European integration.

SBU detains high-ranking traitor who had access to data on prisoner exchanges

від Юрій Гончаренко February 13, 2025

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed and detained Dmytro Kozyura, the head of the SBU Anti-Terrorist Center (ATC), who is suspected of working for the Russian Federal Security Service. The operation was personally led by SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk.

According to available information, the detainee held the position of Chief of Staff of the ATC and was also the Deputy Chief of the ATC. These positions provided him with full access to all materials related to the preparation and conduct of prisoner of war exchanges, including encrypted messages, locations of exchanges, details of agreements and lists of prisoners on both sides.

It is known that Kozyura has been working for the SBU since at least 2016, when he was already the head of the Anti-Terrorist Department (“T”).

As political expert Volodymyr Tsybulko notes in his blog , the presence of such a high-ranking FSB agent could have significantly influenced the prisoner exchange process. “Having access to information, the Russians could enter the negotiations from a ‘strong’ position. They could blackmail with the lives and health of our people,” the expert writes.

The investigation is currently establishing the circumstances of the possible information leak and the suspect’s influence on the disruption of prisoner exchanges. According to reports, some exchanges were disrupted due to the Russian side’s unexpected knowledge of sensitive information.

Given the nature of the suspect’s access to classified information, details of the investigation and trial may be partially closed.

The suspect reportedly had access to documents of the Joint Center at the SBU, which coordinates the exchange of prisoners between various law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.

Yuriy Honcharenko calls for resumption of funding for humanitarian projects after suspension of USAID programs

від Юрій Гончаренко January 29, 2025

Yuriy Honcharenko, a well-known public figure and founder of the InfoLight.UA Research and Analysis Group , called on the Ukrainian conservative community to join forces to resume international grant support for humanitarian projects in Ukraine after the USAID office received an order to suspend all projects.

According to Suspilne, the Ukrainian office of USAID received an order to suspend all projects and expenditures on them after the relevant directive of the US State Department on a 90-day audit of aid programs.

The situation is critical now! And despite the obvious desire to troll those whose world is collapsing and whose budgets are disappearing, Ukraine’s interests are paramount!

– emphasized Goncharenko in his address.

According to him, “we must admit that some of the grant projects in Ukraine were clearly irrational”but there is no reason to rejoice at the complete halt of critical projects.

The decision to suspend has already affected the work of Ukrainian organizations. In particular, Veteran Hub has been forced to close its Veterans Support Line and its branch in Vinnytsia. Projects to rebuild schools, provide medical services, and repair critical energy infrastructure are also under threat.

“We urgently need to resume funding for humanitarian, veteran and other similar projects. And I propose that each of us use all available communication channels to convey this information to those who can influence the unblocking of this assistance,” – the public figure urged .

On January 28, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed government officials to submit a report on suspended US support programs. According to him, most projects were implemented directly through communities and various organizations, bypassing the Ukrainian government.

“Oleksiy Kuleba and other government officials are finding out which programs are currently in short supply… We will determine which of them are critical and require solutions right now,”the President said in his evening address, adding that part of the funding could be provided from the budget, and the rest would be discussed with European and American partners.

“Those who irritate Americans so much are actually a minority in Ukraine. Noisy, visible, but a minority. And my colleagues and I are now actively working to ensure that the majority of Ukrainians hear the world,”Goncharenko added.

As reported by Forbes Ukraine, the suspension of funding is part of President Donald Trump’s campaign promises to cut federal spending. At the same time, US military assistance to Ukraine continues as usual.

Critical moment: how to avoid past mistakes and rebuild trust to support Ukraine

від Юрій Гончаренко January 29, 2025

I am very angry that we are now repeating the mistake that is one of the reasons for the pause in grant support. Due to personal ambitions and loss of income, certain public figures are once again attacking those on whom we depend.

I was sure that everyone would understand the situation correctly and finally learn to separate personal and state interests. But no.

Therefore, I must clearly explain important things and call on us to work together to correct the situation.

Let’s finally do the necessary work on the bugs. What do I suggest?

1️⃣ To recall one of the most striking precedents

When Texty.org.ua published a study that actually called the Heritage Foundation and other members of the Trump team pro-Russian. This is, firstly, untrue, and secondly, it caused a scandal and a demand to stop funding such things with American taxpayers’ money.

The continued support of the Texty team by organizations, including Mediarukh, which receive funding from the United States, could not but provoke a response. Which we have today.

❗ Let me remind you that I warned back then that this would have consequences, including the suspension of grant programs.

2️⃣ The current team in power in the United States

It differs from its predecessors in that it is value-based and pragmatic. If they declare a certain ideological framework, it is not a joke. Some of them believe in it, some of them have chosen it as their own ideology.

For example:

  • Mike Johnson is a sincere Christian.
  • Elon Musk is a pragmatist who adheres to certain values.

If you look at them from this point of view, all their actions will be logical and predictable.

3️⃣ Some grant projects in Ukraine were irrational

It’s not so much about “LGBT and gender,” conferences, or other meaningless events, but rather about solid projects for the frontline regions.

  • Why buy in cities something that will be destroyed or captured by the enemy with a 90% probability?
  • Who needs to invest in a rather dubious media product?

4️⃣ Ukrainian NGOs and USAID

Obviously, Ukrainian NGOs applied for those competitions that were open. But the formation of the field depended on USAID Ukraine.

However, this could not happen in a vacuum, without appropriate feedback. USAID had a circle of its own around it, pushing away anyone who could compete.

5️⃣ The common misfortune of Ukraine

Some Ukrainian CSOs need to admit that at some point, especially after Biden was replaced by Harris, they began to openly say unacceptable things about Trump and his team. They even used labels like “fascist.”

With funding from the American state, they sided with one of the teams in the election race. As, after all, was the case with Zelenskyy in September, when he was almost set up with the visit program.

?‍♂️ What to do?

? I have always been a consistent critic of the Democrats in the United States for their international policy toward Ukraine. I have never been a fringe anti-LGBT activist, but I share the values that are now official US policy. It’s easy for me to write about this because I have never changed my mind.

? I am a pragmatic supporter of the Christian democratic economic model for Ukraine. I am a pragmatic supporter of the Christian Democratic economic model for Ukraine, based on the example of what the CSU did in Bavaria in the postwar years and the CDU-CSU bloc in Germany. I have stood and will continue to stand by the fact that only this model will provide Ukraine with a chance to succeed.

? I share Christian values. Although I am not a Protestant, I have many friends among them, as well as fruitful cooperation with part of this environment. We have a lot to talk about with our American colleagues.

? Those who irritate Americans so much are a minority in Ukraine. A noisy, visible minority, but a minority. My colleagues and I are actively working to ensure that the majority of Ukrainians – white heterosexual Christians – are heard by the world. According to all the canons of democracy, we have the right to finally become subjects in Ukraine.

? THE SITUATION IS CRITICAL NOW! Despite the obvious desire to troll those whose world is collapsing and whose budgets are disappearing, UKRAINE’S INTERESTS ARE FIRST!

Yes, we were all annoyed that the grant flows were usurped by a certain group with values that were alien to us, and that some Ukrainian NGOs were openly making money on it. But we had already told them enough about it.

? IT’S TIME TO SAVE THE COUNTRY. We urgently need to resume funding for humanitarian, veteran, and other similar projects. I propose that each of us use all available communication channels to convey this information to those who can influence the unblocking of this aid.

‼️ I ask for your support and dissemination of this appeal. And let’s get to work.
