The Ukrainian military has faced a serious problem with a shortage of artillery ammunition, especially of the Soviet type. This was reported by blogger Serhiy Ivanov, citing information from a military source.
According to him, the most acute shortage is of 122 mm rockets for Grad systems, 152 mm and 122 mm shells for howitzers, and 125 mm tank ammunition.
“It is impossible to compensate for the lack of artillery ammunition with drones”Ivanov’s source emphasizes.
As noted, despite the support of Western partners, their defense industry was able to provide only about 50% of the planned supply.
“In some areas of the frontline, there is a critical shortage of mortar shells, tank and artillery shells, and almost zero stocks of ammunition for Grad and other Soviet-style artillery systems,”the report says.
It is worth noting that this situation may be related to the report that the FSB is preparing a provocative action in Kyiv on October 25. Both events may be part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at weakening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
