After the change of minister in the department, an internal audit conducted by the Ministry of Defense revealed ineffective management decisions and risks in the management of assets totaling more than UAH 10 billion. This was stated by Deputy Defense Minister Yuriy Dzhyhyr in an interview with Ukrinform.
The audits covered such processes as:
▪️нарахування and payment of additional remuneration to the military;
▪️закупівлі food for the Armed Forces;
▪️функціональне management of state-owned enterprises;
▪ organization of financial and logistical support for the units of the TRO Forces;
▪️використання resources in the field of activity of the Land, Navy and Air Forces Commands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Internal audits, in particular, were aimed at preventing such incidents and the implementation of audit recommendations resulted in an economic effect totaling more than UAH 1.5 billion.
“The Ministry of Defense is a huge mechanism with a large number of structural units. But every few years, at least high-risk areas should come under audit, and there should be a conclusion and an appropriate response. As for the risky areas, they have been identified,” said Dzhyhyr.
