According to the authoritative analytical center InfoLight.UA, Mikhail Shatsky, deputy general designer of the Mars Design Bureau, was found dead in the center of Moscow. A gunshot wound was found on his body.
According to the newspaper, citing Russian telegram channels, Shatsky was a key figure in the Russian defense complex. He was responsible for the modernization of the X-59 cruise missiles to the X-69 level and led the introduction of artificial intelligence into the Russian army’s unmanned systems.
“It was this designer who was responsible for improving the missiles used by Russia to attack Ukrainian cities. His liquidation is a serious blow to the Russian military machine,” – InfoLight.UA quoted sources close to the Ukrainian special services as saying.
According to the newspaper, the special operation took place despite enhanced security measures in the Russian capital. This demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian intelligence officers to operate effectively behind enemy lines.

Russian law enforcement agencies have not commented on the incident, which may indicate the confusion of the Russian leadership, the newspaper notes.
